Grass lover Jonah
Yes, it's true. Us Lee's.....we LOVE our grass! We love the deep, rich color that can be seen glancing out the window, or in contrast to our gorgeous Elk Ridge views. We love the fresh, invigorating smell. We love to dig our deprived naked toes through the luscious blades (deprived because we only had dirt and "pokies" to dig them in for the past year). We love to have races on it and turn cartwheels/somersaults on it (minus a pregnant mom who is hoping she will have her chance before the snow comes). We love to have picnics on it. We even like to scoop Indy bombs (dog poop) from it.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder! And so will a lot of time, blood, sweat (no tears though) and money. :) We LOVE our newly landscaped, sodded yard! A massive THANKS goes out to my dear, dear husband who realized the dream (or else got tired of hearing about it from his wife) and did a majority of the HARD LABOR (what a man!) over the past year, along with our personal super-hero contractor "Steve the Builder" and his awesomeness.
Here is a list of what has gone into the outer parts of our home since we moved in May 2007:
- old porch demolished, new porch and sidewalk poured (Sept 07 post "New Porch")
- 6 foot white vinyl fence and gate put in to keep my dog and kid contained
- rain gutters
- cinder block wall around driveway
- rock wall above driveway (May 08 post "Tractors & Diggers")
- sprinkler system
- hauling/grading
- decorative landscape rock work
- curbing
- sandbox
- garden boxes
- sod parties!

Stay tuned for trees/garden/foilage to come next Spring!
