We've had Jesse back for a week now and we are happy to have him! He LOVED his trip to Alaska, although was rightly bummed not to catch a Salmon or Halibut while there. Due to the late summer, the fish didn't start 'running' until the day he flew out; even the regular guides were confused and frustrated. I told him it was because the fish heard he was coming and got scared. :) Only means we have to take another trip to Alaska and take the whole fam!
Jess spent most of his time on boats as this was the main form of transportation. He told me he will never complain again about having to drive 5 miles from Elk Ridge just to go grocery shopping. :) He spent a lot of time working on building a new cabin for the neighbor/friend that hosted the trip as well as learning the art of Oyster farming. He looked like a glowing mountain man coming in the door with 10 days of 'scruff', a tan that quickly washed off and a renewed soul. These Lee's were meant to be in the mountains - no better place than 'the heart of America's last wilderness'!
