The Saturday after our infamous birthday celebration, my DH (dear husband) took off with some co-workers and friends for a week long fishing trip off the Oregon coast (and some fly fishing on the McKenzie River outside Eugene). Oh, the bliss. Nothing like a week of fishing (well, at least to one DH who has nearly turned into a fish he thinks/dreams/eats it so often - not to mention catches them so often, right sweetie?). I was excited he could leave the stress of work behind for a week and do something he loves. He left around 5am Saturday morning to start the drive and I received a call at 11pm that night that they had finally arrived (phew!). Despite the long drive and DH having to drive almost the entire time, he was still in a good mood and having a good time. Sunday they drove to the coast to do what they had ultimately gone for - ocean Salmon fishing. I later received the unfortunate update that despite the pricey guide service, there was no catch guarantee - DH was the only one of the group to reel in a Salmon. Being the good guy he is, he divided the fish up among his friends and packaged the rest up for us (yum). Monday and Tuesday they spent fly fishing the McKenzie which was reported to be one of the most beautiful rivers DH has ever fished and to be the name of our first daughter (it is beautiful, see below). Due to some unfortunate family events for one of the men in the group, they were forced to return earlier than planned and make the drive home Wednesday. We were happy to have DH back home and happy he didn't turn into a fish while away. :)
